An Extraordinary experience is waiting - are you ready to take it?

It has been a while since I shared something here. But I havent had the need for sharing, there hasnt been thought stuck in my head or questions I need to answer or ask.
But I got this need now. So I am back with one more post.

I had the great experience to travel half around the world to attend a conference about the topic I want to work with in my career life. I spent all my savings, made plans and handed in an article which was published. When I came there I met great people, motivated and intelligent people working in the field I want to work in, either in business, NGO's or as academics. It was inspiring and challenging.
I loved it.

It was my first time attending one of these types of conferences, and I was so nervous when it was my turn to  speak, share my article and my thoughts around it and my view point about the topic. I havent been this stressed in a LONG time.
But what a rewarding experience. People enjoyed my thoughts and agreed in many cases. I got great feedback on my performance and I won the best paper for the research track. WHAT A START!
I came home, having met old friends, having gained new ones, and have some more and deeper experience in the field I am trying to build my career in. I cannot ask for anything more.

So why am I sharing this with you now?

Because I believe we do not dare enough. I think we are too comfortable in our bubble so we do not search for or allow great opportunities to pop up. With taking chances comes great results and I think many of us are missing out on these results, these experiences to make us better because we have it so nice in our daily lives.
So I wanted to share this, hoping that it might ignite some interest to go out and search for your opportunities, be in attending conferences, meeting valuable people, write articles, create a video, whatever it is that gets to to a better place in your life ... GO FOR IT!
What have you got to lose?
NOTHING!!
Money comes back (in most cases)
pride can be hurt but you'll get over it

I hope more of us start to be brave. As the Metal Singer Blaze Bayley sang so great - FORTUNE FAVORS THE BRAVE!
Lets reach our extraordinary experiences!

Path of no return?

As I sit at my desk, watch out my window into the darkness that is embracing Copenhagen now I feel a little uneased.
I should be at peace after a relaxing weekend, catching up with family and exploring Denmark a little more but I'm not.
It's not an uncomfortable feeling I'm having. It's kind a more "oh man, why am I here?"
So I'm in a need to soulsearch a little and figure my way a little again.
Being so busy I haven't had the time to confirm where I'm heading and if I'm satisfied with it.

I miss my lifestyle of travelling, of discovering new cultures, people and being on the move.
Now I'm getting into a routine, something I haven't done in years and it feels strange. Routine is not bad and I am discovering new things - but in the field of my studies.
It's just a feeling like I'm missing out on life!

I know that's not what's happening as I'm preparing myself for the future.
But the fast track I've been on is becoming slow and steady and familiar.
There is no uncertanty, no breath of fresh air, now feeling of accomplishment.
Perhaps this feeling is starting to show it self as I have began to question the path I'm on now.. Dont get me wrong, Denmark is great!
But I'm not completely satisfied with my study program and maybe that is pushing this doubt, this feeling on going nowhere into my heart.
Perhaps I just need to sit down, analyze my life as it is at the moment and discover if I'm on the right path or not.

Maybe I need a time where life takes an unexpected turn, brings in color and excitement and get's me motivated again.
As I read in the book I'm currently reading " Principle-centered leadership" by Stephen R, Covey...
Motivation is a function of the heart - more than the head..
And maybe I'm not following my heart as I should be.
Maybe I am and I just dont realize it because the other alternative looks more interested - the gras is greener or the other side..
But is that ever the case?
I should just hold back and rediscover who I am and where I'm going - to make sure my path is taking my the right way!

It's still me - a new and better one!

today, the last day in Paris, I feel no sadness or regret.
I actually can not wait for this chapter of my life to end and for the new one to take over.

It's quite interesting, this feeling of having nothing to say about leaving.
I feel like I have said everything before. Shared my feelings.

A song by Jason Mraz has a sentence in it - "go make your next choice be your best choice" - and I'm sure that I have made the best choice for me in the situation I was in.
I feel relieved.

what awaits me when I get home, I have no idea of.
But what I do know is that it will be better then here.
I'm searching for opportunities to take, doors to open and windows to crawl in.
The path of opportunities is narrow and short though in Iceland.

Where my choices take me I can never know until I'm there.
But I'm more then ready for a new adventure, new challenge that is the right one for me, a life with passion and smiles.

I was talking to a dear friend this week and he asked me what I felt about the time spend in the current role.
My answer was then, with no doubt - Waist of time.
But as I think more on his question and my answer I challenge my answer.
It hasn't been a waist of time at all.
but it has been hard though.
but not waist of time.

If I would think about this as waist of time, then everything I have done, people I have met, places I have been to - that wouldn't be worth mentioning.
And I do appreciate new friends I have met, old friends I saw again, places I visited for the first time, places I visited over and over again.
I love it!

I do think I have become a stronger person in this chapter of my life.
I feel it, my family feels it as well.
I am more clear on what I want in life, I have lived my values and strengthen my relationship with family and friends.

It's the same old me-but with more value and experience.
How can that be a waist of time?

I look forward to the new chapter, and to become a 'new' me!

Reality of Romance

Yesterdays skies was extremely beautiful, dark blue and clear but no stars though. This view, with the lights from buildings, cinema's and cafe's made my walk home very pleasant.

Its in these times, moments, when I feel how romantic the city can be. It felt like a movie scene.
I will miss Paris when I leave in just few days. Paris is becoming part of me - Or I becoming a part of Paris :)

Although I wait eagerly to fly home there is a tiny thought saying 'I wish things would have been different'. Not only because then I would have enjoyed my job but also because I would have spent longer time here, in the city of love and romance.

Paris, the city of Romance?
Yes for sure although I haven't been here with a loved one to try it out. So I will have to take people's word for it.
And sometimes men here do not behave very romantically with women.

- So what is it with this city that makes it so romantic?
- And is this romance only to be experienced if you are in love?

No, I dont think so. I'm not in love but yesterday night I felt the romance of the city.
I asked a question on facebook few weeks ago that goes something like this.
"is it possible to love a reality that we dont know?"
A friend of mine said "Yes, it's called romanticism". Thanks Gorjan because now I do believe that is true.
I think the answer to my question about Paris lies in this answer/question as well.

Paris is romantic because you never know what to expect, you love whatever comes your way because Paris, not matter what, will never let you down. With it's beautiful buildings, amazing parks, views like you have never seen before, people being open and warm.. How can it not be romantic?

Paris is a reality I know, I live here. I see it every day.
One might wonder that the romance would fade away , as it tends to do.
- how do I make sure to keep the romance alive?
My answer to that question is this;
Embrace what Paris has to offer, big and small. Smile and look around. Be open for the romance and see the beauty that is all around, the atmosphere is screaming 'romance'. you just have to listen.

Yes, I'm sure I'll miss Paris.
Even though I have had to experience the romance by myself I still feel it has been worth it.
Now, at least, I can not claim to be not romantic ;)

Who knows.. maybe I'll be back one day with my husband and share these romantic feelings the city has shown me, with the one I love :)
You never know!!

My Parisian experience - Part II

As my stay in Paris is about to come to an end I have started to think about what this city means to me.
Then I remembered that I posted here my thoughts about Paris after 2 weeks in the city and I wanted to kind a go back to them and see where I am today!

Parisian experience
Tomorrow I have been in Paris for 2 weeks already. It just feels like 2 days.

I haven't been much around the city, I haven't been doing much outside AIESEC and I havent meet many people that are not AIESECers. Despite those facts, I'm having the time of my life here.
How can I not?
I'm living in Paris :)

This morning, on my way to the office, I started thinking about my perceptions of Paris.
- it's crowded city
- some places smell like Pee
- there are more homeless people here then I have seen in other cities
- it's so alive 24/7, people are everywhere
- so far it's only rained once ( and then it really rained )
- Random men talking to you on the street "Belle" "Bonjour" "Ca Va" etc.
- When it's sunny outside the city is so pretty
- People read all the time, I really enjoy that
- wine culture is big
- sitting at cafés all hours is generally accepted by the French people
- good coffee
- good bakary food
- beautiful language

So far this is what I'm thinking of Paris.
My first 2 weeks are just the way you would like your first 2 weeks in a new country to be like.
I'm ready for the next 2 weeks :)

- With Love -
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I still feel blessed for having had the chance in my life to live in Paris. I love this city and even though my experience here hasn't been as pleasant as I hoped, the city somehow never let me down.

So what comes to my mind when I think about Paris today - almost 7 months later!

- diversity in people, Here you can see people from all over the world and I love that they still dress in traditional ways as they would in their countries. It brings a lot of colors to the crowd.
- amazing bakery products. It's dangerous but so worth it :)
- people kissing, no matter where you are, what's the weather people always show affection and kiss in public.
- Good coffee.
- reading in the metro - it makes me feel less stressed and I love it
- Amazing parks where people gather to enjoy the weather, each other company and see and be seen.
- beautiful buildings. Although I'm not into architecture I love to see beautiful buildings and Paris has enough of them
- lively city - it doesnt matter what time I am walking around there are always people walking along, sitting somewhere and making the city so alive.
- random parking. Paris is over crowded and its hard to find a parking so people park their cars everywhere

These are just few of the first things that came to my mind when I thought about what Paris means to me.
But more than this Paris has another meaning for me as well.
It's the place where I realized how ready I am for the life outside AIESEC.
It's the place where I have shared 7 months of frustration, pain and hurt but still I love the city.
It's the place where I learned how strong I am as an individual and it made my relationship with family and friends stronger as well.
For that I will also remember Paris fondly.

I know I will be back here someday in the future.. for what I'm not sure.. but I love this place too much not to come back!

From zero to hero - in Poland!

As I sit at my desk at the office my mind is still processing the experience I had in Poland.
And to start of I wanted to share a song that reminds me only of AIESEC in Poland and the cool, random guys in the MC!

I was told to be prepared for a tough delegates that demand professional conference and where the first impression means everything, and AIESEC in Poland being one of the strongest AIESEC countries I automatically became a little nervous.
As I headed for the airport I was feeling excited and wondering if I would make this first impression I needed, both for Facis and delegates, and if I was ready for this journey I was about to embark on!

I want to share some of the points that made me smile and overall experience but details will only be given in person as it would take to long to write!

when I arrived at the airport I had interesting experience that made me smile.
I was flying with a low cost airline so the airport I went to was extremely small and there was no order in the check in line and the boarding line. So as orderly I am, I was stuck in middle of this crowed and I just followed the flow. that really put a smile on my face as this is something I'm completely not used to!

When the plane landed people started clapping and I started laughing. Why were they clapping? happy to be alive? happy to be home? supporting the pilot? I found this extremely interesting and again, my travel to Poland had put a smile on my face!

I took the train straight to this lovely little town called Czestochowa ( yes, try to pronounce it )where the conference I was chairing would be held. When the train came to the destination I hear 3 guys singing and doing push ups when they come out of the train. They were just finishing their army term and were celebrating. This was very cool to see and another fun event that made me smile. So far the trip to Poland was good.

As I met the Faci team for SMS ( Spring Management Seminar ) I didnt feel nervous any longer. This team was super cool, they were well prepared and they had fun. So I had fun as well.
Working with this team of 16 people was a pleasure, I bonded with many of them and they all made my smile, laugh and enjoy this great experience. I want to thank them as I dont think this challenge would have been as pleasurable as it was with out them!

I was pleasantly surprised with the openness and randomness of Polish people. They dont take them too seriously and for me, that was a perfect atmosphere as I dont like to take myself too seriously either.
They were so open to come and talk to me, ask me questions, ask for my ideas and share theirs. It was so amazing to talk to these super cool individuals about everything on their minds and share my experience.

I got great feedback from people, they liked my smiles, my randomness and openness and my spirit.
For me, that's priceless as it confirms to me that I'm a person that people respond well to and I am likable. I'm happy to hear that!

Meeting people from previous conferences, hearing how they are doing, what they are doing in life and reconnecting was also something that for me was great!

Global Village on saturday was an experience I do not regret having, although the next day I was not feeling so positive ;)
Seeing how proud people are of their LCs and their cities was really nice. And made me really want to explore more of Poland!

I had quite many goals for me personally, what I wanted to get out of this experience.
I managed to reach all but one!
For me thats very good.

I still think I need to process the experience more in order to really get everything out of it so I will do that.
This was in short, my experience in Poland, as a chair of their national conference!
- Super cool ( with an indian accent )

Stepping outside my comfort zone!

So now I'm sitting in an AIESEC office in Copenhagen.
I came here last monday and I was freezing. But it's great to be back to Scandinavia. Here I always feel like home.
I also have so many friends here :)

I'm in Denmark because the MC team asked if I would be able to chair their national conference called ALTIUS.
Of course I said YES :)
That's an amazing opportunity.
Not only because I want the chairing experience or that Denmark is one of my favorite country but because I think the Danish team are my kind of people.
People that I can work with.
That makes the experience even better.

So Pre meeting is running smoothly so far, people are all working hard and I feel happy, honored and excited.
I have butterflies in my stomach, I'm enjoying this.

It's interesting how much stepping outside your comfort zone can be motivating when you are used to it.
I really feel challenged by this role but in a good way.
Taking challenges has been and will be my way to live life.

I'm still on the same page as my last post - I'm keeping my dreams alive and dreaming new things every day.
Today my dream is to make ALTIUS an amazing experience, to grow as a chair and a person and to meet my friends.
So I'm going to live my dreams!

Travel experience

Written 19.01.09
Sitting at the St. Pancrass international, all rained down and still an hour to go until I step up in the train on my way to Paris.
My adventure is continuing.

I‘m here way to early but I didn‘t want to risk being late since I wasn‘t sure how long the bus ride would take me. People are getting ready to board the train that leaves before mine, I‘m on the next one.

During this whole travel that started yesterday at 14.00 GMT, I have been thinking. I was utterly unsatisfied with all logistical aspects of my role, the way some people dont communicate and financial uncertainty killing me but still I’m ready to go back and try one more time.
I want to believe that this time will be better for me, I’m ready to give it a chance.

Written 20.01.09

When I arrived in Paris I took the metro to the office, I was more then ready to get the key and jump home for a shower and unpacking.
But I got locked outside the office and I had to wait for 45 minutes. It was getting cold and it started to rain but thankfully some dudes working in the basement had to get out for smokes and let me in the next door.
Then thankfully some guys working at the office finally came and let me in.
But then another problem came up.

I was locked outside the apartment as well. So I had to stay at the office until 22.00.
I was so tired when I finally arrived to the apartment last night, especially after climbing to the 4th floor with my heavy suitcase.

So I’m back in Paris.
Let’s see how this time goes.

Adventure to be continue

I'm sitting in the dining room, at my "office" spot.
The view outside the window is amazing, still sea, white ground, birds flying and small sunlight shining on the buildings on the other end of the harbor.

These moments are my last few moments in Iceland until the end of my term, I'm taking the flight today to London and then train tomorrow to Paris.
I'm excited to leave, meeting people that I know there and trying to enjoy my adventure until the next one starts.
But I'm not ready to leave.
I dont want to leave my little nephew, the dearest thing to me now.
My family, I see how much they will miss me, how much they dont want me to leave, and I dont want to leave them.

This passed month has been great, I spent it with friends and family, the people that mean the most to me.
This time back home gave me the energy to go back to my role, and make sure I strive to do the best I can.
I know I have their full support and that means the world to me!

I hope the next weeks and months will fly by like this passed month did.
Then I can see my nephew, hold him and cuddle him.
I can not wait!

My journey Home :)

I'm currently sitting at the office, just finished talking to my parents and now I have this butterfly feeling in my stomach.
I'm going home.

after 4 months out of my home, exploring other countries and cultures I'm finally heading back.
Back to a country that I have admired for so long but at the moment I have mixed feelings about.
I'm going home to my family and friends, people that make me smile and will make the christmas holiday worth the trip to Iceland.
I'm heading back home.

I have been waiting for this day for months now.
I do need this time to reajust, pick up my motivation and start thinking positively again.
I need my people, my culture, my christmas habits.

It's funny how some habits stick with you.
Since before I was 17 years old I have always made my own Christmas cards and set to my friends.
This year it had to be something different since I dont have the time nor the resources to make my own.
But I still can not imagine my christmas time without writing lovely messages to friends and send cards.
It's special for me.
This year will also be special for my friends, they will recieve piece of my new life - French Christmas cards :)

My travel home starts tomorrow morning.
I dont think I will sleep much, since I haven't been sleeping much these passed few nights as well.
I look forward to London, times with friends and sightseeing
And then being welcomed by my homecountry..
What a lovely start of Christmas :)

another city, another experience :)

I’m sitting at the bus station in Budapest, waiting for the bus to come and take me to Prague.
There is a huge christmas tree standing in front of me, with lights, blue orniments and small gifts hanging on waiting to be opened ( no, I dont think they are real but one can hope ;) )
In my ears christmas music is playing. This time it’s my choosing and not just random christmas songs played around the city. I made my playlist on my ipod with the point to get my into christmas mood.

2 weeks already in Budapest and I’m missing Paris.
Last night me and JuanCa watched the last episodes of Sex and the city and they two last ones happen in Paris.
I really felt this was my city, my home. It was strange but nice feeling. I have two homes in my heart, Iceland and Paris. How rich am I? 

Although Prague is a very nice city I can not wait to get back to Paris, back home.
I am ready to be in my environment and feel comfortable.
Two weeks is long time to be out of your home.

But there are 17 days until I get to Iceland, my other home. 17 days. This is proof that time flies fast, even if you are not having fun, you feel sad, you feel happy and excited. Time flies fast because you are living your life as well as you can and you take each situation as it comes, with no excuse. That’s why I’m going home in 17 days, because I try to smile to the world and take things as they come.

Now, there are is a whole new day and I’m still writing this blog. Currently I’m in Prague, one of my favorite cities I have travelled to.
The bus ride from Budapest to Prague took me 7 hours.. 7 hours and three countries later I am sitting in another room, with another persons cover and getting ready to sleep in a nother city that’s not my city.

So now, after my long long bus ride, metro ride without paying and walking to the flat I’m staying at, I keep laughing and enjoying my time. But I’m very much ready to get some sleep.
So that’s it folks, good night sleep tight.

P.s. happy birthday to all those dear people in my life that have their birthday on December 2nd and 3rd 

one more travel - start of something more?

Yesterday I was down..
But honestly.. these past days/weeks I have been down. I dont want to go to work, I dont feel like I'm getting anything out of this work. Like I used to.
Talking to Gunga, she mentioned that when I was selected.. I was so excited, so happy and so much looking forward to this great experience...
Well, it has been very different and not as great as I expected..
But life goes on right?

Yesterday I decided not to make excuses.. so today I started trying to enjoy the work.
So far, it's only up to 40% enjoyment. I would say..

But why did I wanted to share with you today?
Just the fact that I want to make this year a great year, at least with the people I'm working with.. I want to have great friends from this year.

Tomorrow I'm going to Budapest, for a Career in Europe Event.. Super excited.
I want to make this a start of more motivated time in my term.. Make sure I come back to Paris with a smile. :)

- Just a disclamer.. I love Paris and the people here.
I'm not demotivated around them :)

So I'm off.. another travel, another country and hopefully another great experience.

Short and sweet

I'm leaving Denmark .
I have mixed feelings about it.

Meeting my friends made me realize how much I'm missing while being in AIESEC.
But it also made me realize how amazing my life actually is.

So now, I'm taking the plane to Paris
and there I will do my best to life the experience until December.
Then I go back HOME!!

I cant wait!

Is heaven something you make everyday?

Some days are better then others.
Usually, Wednesdays are my worst days of the week but today I have been in a good mood, working hard and super excited.
Tomorrow I'm leaving to Denmark, I will meet my friends again after more then 2 months. :)

Its so interesting, I'm sitting at the office and having random songs playing.
But as I start to write this post a song by Lenny Kravitz, Believe, starts playing.
And the lyrics is a appropriate - If you want it you got it. You have to believe, believe in your self.

That's something I'm learning more and more.
Having a smile, knowing how strong you are, believe in your power, your passion, your knowledge gets you far.
People respect those who respect themselves, those who believe in themselves, those who know what their worth.
I admire those people.
I am one of those people.

I'm leaving you now to prepare my journey to Denmark.
A journey full of exciting new adventures, old friends (old but great ) and learning to believe more in myself.
I wish you the same

Free Hugs - Free smiles :)

it's strange, I have lived in Paris for just a month now and when I was coming home from my travels I felt I was coming "home". I am surprised how short time it took to look at Paris as my home. I think it's because I like it here and I want to make this my home.

My travels made me realize how much I love to be in different cities, meeting new people and being random in my actions ( random in a good way ).
I started my travels by going to Bratislava to meet Janie. She took the time to show me around and I enjoyed it so much. I liked Bratislava and it's surroundings. I learnt a lot about the history from this region and how things are different then you actually thought they had been.

After my stay in Bratislava I went to Piestany - a smaller town in Slovakia where EuroCo 2008 was held.
This town is very cute, at least the small part I saw of the city.
I walked around, eating Ice Cream and really loving my life.

After 6 days in that lovely little town I went back to Bratislava but my stay there would not be so long since I decided to take a bus to Budapest, Hungary.
I staied there for 1 day, doing sightseeing with people that I really dont know that much. But it was so much fun, and I feel like I'm stepping outside my comfort zone by interacting with people in higher level then just "hi how are you face".
Thanks Anula for hosting me in your lovely city :)

After Budapest my travels took my to Vienna, Austria.
That city impressed me so much. I had the best time there and I only staied there for 3 hours.
My and Vishal, MCP of AIESEC Belgium were there for short sight seeing and we found a group of people giving Free hugs to people walking by.
It was so interesting since I just saw a short movie at EuroCo about Free Hugs and how they can make people smile.
So me and Vishal got a free Hug and then we decided to participate as well, so we created our own "FREE HUGS" sign.
I have to admit that giving hugs to random strangers would not be something I had done few years back. But now, I feel I'm becoming a stronger individual that wants to spread smiles amongst the people around me.

So now I'm back in Paris, my home.
Thinking back at this travel, this experience with a smile.
And I'm so happy with my life, my friends and the people interacting with me on daily basis.
I'm so happy!´

It's the end of the month - Again :)

Today is the last day of September and I wonder where time goes?
It feels like only 2 weeks since I left Iceland, saying goodbye to my parents ( again - it doesn't get easier the often you do it ).

Tomorrow is the first day of October, month that somehow I feel like I have never liked so much, it's a rainy month, gray and lifeless - somehow.
I know it's not true but when I think about this month, these feelings come up.

Somehow I look at this October differently.
I see joy, I see colors ( still a little grayish but colors nevertheless) and I see people, friends and AIESECers.
This October I'm going to Slovakia for the first time - YEAH. I will be going to a conference, EuroCo and meeting coworkers, friends and the leaders on local levels in Europe.
But I will also meet a dear friend - Janie - again after a long time.
Thats special and I can not wait to meet her. :)

In October I'm also going to Denmark. The main reason is to meet my best friends there, go to concert and do some work as well.

In the end of October I'm going to a conference here in Paris on the topic of CSR, something that I'm very interested in.

So October is not looking so lifeless anymore. I'm actually happy to embrace this month with open arms and gladly take on the moments he has to offer ( he - the month ;) )

And to share with you this joy, I want to give you the link to the last pictures of my travels to Brazil.
Enjoy as much as I did :)

Paris, Pope and movies

this will be the last part of the Brazil story because now I'm in Paris and my life here is something to share with you all.

My travel to the airport took 60 min boat ride with a speed boat, 4 hours waiting at the bus station in Angra des Rais, 7 hours bus ride ( along with car sicknes ) from Angra to Sao Paulo and then 14 hours waiting at the airport in Sao Paulo. I just didn't want to miss my flight out of the country.
Not that I didnt like Brazil - I was just ready to get back.

My travels were very interesting, police man going through my stuff, arriving late in Portugal and running to the next gate, not having my luggage in London and waiting for 4 hours on Heathrow, my trainticket to paris was not bought so I needed to buy one and therefore loosing the train I wanted to take.
VERY NICE!

So I arrived in Paris last Wednesday and so far I like it a lot.

Riding boats all the time :P

My stay at the paradise island went by way to fast.
Day one:
- I took a boat ride at 10 in the morning to their BLUE LAGOON. I had to go and see if it was nicer then one in Iceland or not hehe. The boat ride was like an hour and half in this amazing weather.
When we got to the blue lagoon people had the chance to snorkle and look at the fish life and enjoy the cold water.
It was my first time snorkling and I enjoyed it so much, so cool to be swimming with the fishes ( not in a Mafia kind a way ) and just enjoying the great weather and the people.

After the snorkling in blue lagoon we took the boat to this beautiful beach where we stayed sunbathing for 50 min ( the time schedule was very strickt ;) )
The next stop was another beach where you could by food for a lot of money. Shit... I decided not to eat. Looking at the prices, all of a sudden I wasn't hungry anymore ;)

So then the boat ride was over, I came back to the "capital" of the Island, took a shower and got ready to leave for a barbeque in the hostel I was originally supposed to stay at.
After this amazing day I found out that I got sunburnt on my back and it hurt like HELL.
So that night I couldn't sleep well. :s

Day two:
- was not so sunny day so I stayed in the hostel to begin with and did some work, my back was also still hurting so it was good to take some time of from the sun. :S
After my work I went for a walk and saw a little more of that beautiful island.
The day was very nice, I did a lot of reading and just relaxing.

Day three:
- I took another boat ride ( you have to travel by boat to get to other places of the island ) to Lopes Mendes. Its a beach where no one lives. and it's so beautiful.
I stayed there for 5 hours and only slept, read and went swimming in the sea.
On my way back to the harbor I heard Icelandic language being spoken but I didn't want to bother the people. It was just very cool.
When I got back to the hostel it was already getting a little dark, so what I did was to arrange my luggage because I was leaving the next morning.
Then I went for a night walk and saw young kids playing Brazilian marshall arts, it was SO cute.
Then I got back and had an early night.

so this was my stay in Ilha Grande :)
more to come soon.

Difficult journey

So day four was a travelling day.
My day started with me going to the beach and enjoy my final moments on Cobacabana beach. I love that place.

After lunch I took a taxi to the Rio bus station. My plan was to take a 2 hour ride to Angra De Rais, a small harbor town between Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paulo. From there I took a ferry, a very interesting old boat, to a small island called Ilha Grande. Its the paradise Island that took 2 hours to get to by the ferry.
I arrived there at 9 PM, tired, hungry and needed to pee. Not so good situation.

So I take my HUGE luggage to go to the Hostel I was supposed to stay at. It was so hard since the Island doesnt have roads, no cars ( exept for police, firetruck and ambulance ), and only way to get to the hostel was to walk over the beach. SHIT.. I had to drag my luggage for 20 min. and it was SO difficult.

So when I got to the hostel, the lady told me there was no free space. I'm like WHAT!!
I had a reservation, I had already paid part of the amount and I had dragged the suitcase all this way!!
So the lady found me another place to stay at, she asked her son ( or some young dude ) to take my luggage to the new hostel and I got refunded the money had already paid.
I was so ANGRY.

So I came to this other hostel, got my room and then went to eat. Had to get my mind of this frustration.
Then I turned back to the hostel to sleep.
So nice.
